In order to realize the stations – Line 1 and Line 6 – of Municipio Square it was necessary to remove the facing of tuff of the north side and facing with cement coated with plaster on the south side. The project needed the intervention of several restorers to secure the artifacts which have to be disassembled before the disconnection cuts.
THE METHOD
The dismantling has had exceptional extension, on the south side the intervention involved the consolidation of the plaster and the protective bandage. After the cuts it has been executed the packaging of steel cages. The facing of tuff, on the north side of the ramparts, has been completely dismantled by the restorers and operators of R.O.M.A. Consorzio and then packed into some industrial pallets.
